Km 0: The story
Gravel crunches under my feet as I take the first steps on the Camino Frances, an 800-kilometre trail. A tight fear fills my stomach, but a hope and a dream push me forward.
I do not see the world around me, because I am completely blind. But with my cane, guided by the sound of my phone and driven by something inside, I completed a journey many cannot imagine: 800 kilometres alone across the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela in 35 days.
Come along through the mountains, feel the silence and the thick fog on the paths. Hear the monks singing in the monasteries. Feel the fear when I think I have taken a wrong turn, and the joy of arriving. And see what happens when strangers share stories as night falls.
