Assistive technology training

My blindness is not a limitation. It is my expertise. I know how assistive technology works, where things go wrong, and what it takes for technology to become a help. That is what I teach, to organisations, to teams and to individuals.

For organisations and municipalities

  • Workplace setup. I install and configure screen readers, magnification and assistive tools so a new blind or low-vision employee is confident from day one. And I teach the colleagues what they need to know.
  • Courses for professionals. Social workers, IT staff, teachers and job consultants learn what assistive technology can do and how to support citizens and students properly.
  • Advice on choosing assistive technology. Which compensatory aid fits the specific need? I advise and take part in trials.
  • Municipal packages. Staff training and citizen training in one agreement.

For private persons and relatives

  • Assistive technology training. Screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Windows Narrator), smartphones and tablets, braille devices, talking watches, GPS and navigation apps. We keep going until it sticks.
  • Personal IT support. Custom setups and workflows that fit you, and help choosing the tools that give the most independence.
  • Help with applications. Missing funding for equipment or training? I guide you through the application and help find grants and support schemes.
  • Training for relatives. Family and helpers learn what the technology can do and how best to support.

AI workshops

  • AI in practice for teams. One day where your staff learn to use AI tools for writing, analysis and small automations, and what not to use them for.
  • Vibecoding for non-developers. How to describe, build and test a small tool yourself. Participants leave with something that works.
  • AI and accessibility. How AI can make content, documents and workflows more accessible, and where it goes wrong.

  1. Discovery call about the need, the equipment and the goal.

  2. A plan with the number of sessions and the content.

  3. Training, with materials you can use afterwards.

  4. Follow-up until it works in everyday life.
