Meet the person behind edisadilovic.com

I am Edis Adilovic. I am 34, completely blind since I was two, and I love proving that technology can empower everyone, that collaboration creates success, and that creativity knows no limits.

My story

I was born in Bosnia and came to Denmark as a refugee in 1993. My parents gave me a choice: sit in a corner and feel sorry for myself, or climb trees and explore the world. I chose the trees.

Since then I have earned a master's degree in Human Resource Management, studied in New York, walked 800 kilometres alone on the Camino de Santiago, run a marathon, taught myself 3D design and won second place in World IDOL 2024. In 2026 I was one of the five cast members of the DR1 series Eventyr i blinde, in which we travelled through Southern Europe without sight.

Today I work as an accessibility consultant, 3D designer and speaker. I help organisations become digitally accessible, build tools and models, and share my story about courage, collaboration and finding your own way.

My core values

Clear communication: I explain things the way I would want them explained to me. Whether it is teaching a beginner JAWS, reassuring worried relatives about what is actually possible, or showing an organisation how their app can be used by blind and low-vision people. No jargon, no assumptions. Only clear, usable information.
Straight talk: If your idea does not hold, I say so. If the schedule is unrealistic, you will hear it. If the budget is a problem, we find alternatives. Sometimes the hard questions come at two in the morning, sometimes in the boardroom. Either way, I do not wrap them up.
Full attention: When we are in a session, I am present. Your training time is yours. Your project gets the focus it needs. Your questions are taken seriously. It should go without saying, but it is worth saying out loud.
Solutions that actually work: I use a screen reader sixteen hours a day. The techniques I share are the ones I use. The 3D models can actually be printed. The workplace solutions work on Monday morning. Real solutions from daily experience, not theory from books.
Respect for where you start: You do not know anything yet? That is why we are talking. You are new? Everyone starts somewhere. You are afraid? That is normal. You are frustrated? I understand. You are here for knowledge and solutions, not judgement.
When I say Tuesday, it is Tuesday: Deadlines matter. Reports are delivered as promised. Calls happen as agreed. Materials are ready when you need them. As simple as that.
You know why: I explain my choices. Why this approach rather than another. Why this technology makes sense in your situation. How I calculate costs. What to expect next. You should know what you are investing in.
We keep going until it works: Some understand at once. Some need five sessions. Some situations are solved quickly. Others take several rounds. Every person and every task is different. We keep working until you have what you need.

Recognition and involvement

World IDOL 2024, second place. International competition for blind people working for inclusion.

I led a fundraiser that raised 70,000 DKK for the Danish Association of the Blind.

I am co-founder and co-owner of Konsulenthuset Kant, which helps organisations hire more people with disabilities.

My other company, Accessible3D, prints and sells tactile models.
